How do I add a short text link to my comment?

To add a short link instead of the entire URL to a comment, type the following into the comment field:

How do I add an image next to my name on my comments?

1. Go here and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. The image must be 80x80 pixels saved as a 72 dpi, RGB, web-ready .jpg or .gif.
3. Our site will only accept G- or PG-rated avatars, so be sure yours isn't too racy. WORLD reserves the right to delete any user account using an avatar that it deems inappropriate.
4. Copyrighted images should not be used as avatars.

Can I use spaces or unusual keyboard characters like semicolons and exclamation marks in my username and password?

No. However, the system will allow you to register for the site with these unusual keyboard characters but will not allow you to login to the next time you return. Why aren't my comments showing up on the site?

This usually happens when our spam filter has flagged a specific word like "assume," because it contains a shorter word that is on our black list. The filter also flags comments containing multiple hyperlinks. Please post multiple links in separate comments to avoid your comments being flagged. (Follow the instructions above to create a shorter text link for lengthy URLs.) The WORLD website staff checks the spam filter as often as it can throughout the day and will release and post comments that have been flagged wrongly.

What do I do if someone else is using my name to post comments on the site?

We will do all we can to correct the situation and punish the guilty party, but we cannot be held liable for their actions, nor can we be held responsible for the comments being cached on online search engines such as Google and Yahoo.
