Redeeming 'Hallelujah'
Emily Whitten reviews films and books for WORLD News Group. Read her review here of the new reality-TV show Surrender the Secret.
WORLD News Group Marvin Olasky recently argued that Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” lyrics are a “brooding, angst-filled, lonely ode to failure”—so he rewrote them. Then he invited readers to perform the song and submit it.
In this segment, we feature the recordings of two WORLD readers who performed Olasky’s new version of the song: Ben Ghormley from Conway, Ark., and Nathan Petersheim of Goshen, Ind.
