Notable Speeches Past and Present: "I Have a Dream"
- The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his now-famous speech at a Washington, D.C., rally on Aug. 28, 1963. In 1999, public-speaking scholars voted "I Have a Dream" the best political speech of the 20th century.
