School voucher program ruled unconstitutional

In Louisiana, a district court judge ruled (PDF) that the state's recently launched school voucher program is unconstitutional because it diverts tax money away from government-run schools. A similar case is pending in Indiana.

Life Care Centers of America is under investigation for alleged defrauding of Medicare (PDF) going back to at least 2006. The Tennessee-based company, which operates a 28-state chain of nursing homes, is fighting the allegations.
