On Monday, Pope Francis said to reporters at a press conference, “If a person is gay, seeks God, and has good will, who am I to judge?” His comments resulted in a flurry of headlines claiming the pope is softening his stance on homosexuality and open to the possibility of gay priests. Blogger David Fischler, who writes about church and culture for standfirminfaith.com, says the mainstream media took Francis’ remarks way out of context.
