Islamist candidate will likely take the victory in the Egyptian presidential elections, Southern Baptists open annual meeting and are poised to elect first black president, and markets were mixed on Monday.

Though official election results in Egypt will not be certified for a couple of days, it appears the Islamist candidate will take the victory - Christians fear what this will mean. And in other Egyptian news, Egypt's military rulers yesterday stripped the presidential office of its most important powers. In this country, the Southern Baptist Convention opens its annual meeting and appears poised to elect its first black president, Fred Luter. And in business news, most markets were mixed on Monday as investors are still not sure what the future holds for Greece or the eurozone.
