A conversation with Penny Nance
This year marks the 35th anniversary of Concerned Women for America, which calls itself the largest grassroots women’s organization in the country, with more than 500,000 members. Warren Cole Smith talks with the president of Concerned Women for America, Penny Nance. Before taking over as president of Concerned Women for America four years ago, she had a varied career in Washington that included time on Capitol Hill as a staffer for Georgia Congressman Pat Swindall, and five years as CWA’s legislative director. She has also consulted with such organizations as Prison Fellow Ministries, where she worked closely with evangelical icon Chuck Colson, and the Center for Reclaiming America, founded by another evangelical leader, D. James Kennedy.
