PRINT AD CHECKLIST
Ads must be created in one of the following (Mac or Windows); QuarkXPress, Photoshop, Illustrator, and FreeHand.
If using Quark, do not use "auto" leading; a numerical value must be assigned to avoid line shifting.
Colors must be uniquely named (Widget.red, not Red; Blue-WM, not Blue) and based on a process-color model (not RGB or "spot color").
Save images in one of the following formats: EPS, TIFF (without LZW compression), and JPEG/JPG (only if emailing files).
Image resolution should be 200 or 266 at the actual image size. (Higher resolution will not improve quality.
Color images must be CMYK, not RGB.
All fonts used in ad must be provided (screen and printer). We cannot use PC fonts. If fonts are not Mac-based, they must be converted to outlines; otherwise similar fonts will be substituted. We accept PostScript and True Type fonts.
Images and fonts embedded in FreeHand or Illustrator files also must be provided.
Make sure ad is correct size according to the specs from our Print Ad Specifications page.
Ads may be sent on ZIP, CD or via e-mail. (If sending materials, we recommend using a service that can track your package and guarantee delivery.)
