Space mission

February 7: NASA will send the Space Shuttle Endeavour off on its penultimate mission today. But the launch date could be moved if scientists with the space agency can't solve problems with the shuttle's cooling system. If Endeavour takes orbit, astronauts plan to deliver two more modules to the International Space Station.

Happy birthday, Boy Scouts

February 8: The United States Senate designated today as Boy Scouts of America Day, setting aside a day to mark the centenary of the Boy Scout movement. Nearly 110 million Americans have taken the Scout Oath to "do my best to do my duty to God and my country." Nearly 2 million American boys have reached Eagle Scout since 1911.
