DISBARRED: The District of Columbia Court of Appeals disbarred I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby from practicing law in the nation's capital. Libby was convicted last year of lying to a grand jury in a CIA leak case. According to the court, "When a member of the Bar is convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude, disbarment is mandatory."

RECOVERING: Southern Baptist Theological Seminary President R. Albert Mohler Jr. underwent surgery March 20 to remove a pre-cancerous tumor from his colon. Although Mohler, 48, is expected to make a full recovery, in February he dropped his bid to become president of the Southern Baptist Convention due to the surgery.

RESIGNED: Tim Goeglein, well known among evangelicals as White House liaison to faith-based organizations, resigned his position as a longtime Bush aide after admitting he had plagiarized portions of columns he wrote for his hometown newspaper. A fellow columnist for The News-Sentinel in Fort Wayne, Ind., where Goeglein had written guest columns for more than a decade, uncovered the deception.
