"Southern sweep" Continued...

To combat Romney's money power, Santorum met with more than 200 conservative leaders from across the country over the weekend in Texas. The activists pledged to raise a combined $1.78 million for his campaign. But Santorum again stressed to these supporters that sustained success largely depends on a Gingrich withdrawal. (See video clip below.)

"We know that we can win this race," he said told the gathering at the Omni Hotel in Houston Friday night. "It is absolutely not just doable, I really believe that if we can get this race after this week down to a head-to-head matchup, I have no doubt in my mind a conservative will be elected."
