Southern discomfort

"Southern discomfort" Continued...

A Personhood USA press release announcing that Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, and Rick Perry would appear at the event reported, "Former Governor Mitt Romney did not respond to invitations to participate."

Pro-life activists debate whether the strategy of pressing for a constitutional amendment declaring the personhood of an unborn child is wise. It's possible Romney doesn't want to be drawn into that debate. But his absence will likely seem like an odd omission in a state with a large number of socially conservative and evangelical voters-particularly when many of those voters remain skeptical of Romney and his position on these issues.

Tell us who you think won Monday night's debate in our online poll.
