A year of progress

Roe v. Wade | Last year was a productive one for pro-life state legislators and governors

Last year was a productive one for pro-life state legislators and governors, although they had to continue to operate within Supreme Court constrictions. More than 65 new laws in 27 states will save lives, but larger advances require judicial and cultural change. This map shows states in white-no new pro-life laws in 2011-and various shades of yellow: the darker the color, the more new legislation. The symbol indicates the category of law. See the E-zine or PDF version of this issue to view the symbols and meanings for this chart.
