Josh Hamilton's journey


All eyes tonight will be on the marquee pitching matchup of San Francisco's Tim Lincecum and Texas' Cliff Lee, as the Giants host the Rangers in Game 1 of the World Series. While that will be an exciting duel, I'll likely be paying more attention to how Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton fares in his first Series. Even as a lifelong New York Yankees fan-the team Texas eliminated last week-I find it hard not to root for this man who has experienced much hardship as well as the redeeming grace of God in his life (see "Roller-coaster ride," Oct. 23, 2010).
