Church of the Holy Spirit, Heidelberg, Germany: Construction of the church began in 1398 and continued in stages for many decades. Beginning in 1706, a partition barrier separated the building into Protestant and Catholic sections, and the barrier stayed in place until 1936. Today, the Church of the Holy Spirit is a Protestant church.
