Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan in testimony last week to the Senate Budget Committee. Mr. Greenspan said that the U.S. economy is doing well now, but that high levels of deficit spending would cause the economy to stagnate "or worse" in the future.

"Generation Rx has arrived."

Roy Bostock, chairman of the Partnership for a Drug-Free America, on the group's finding that one in five U.S. teenagers had abused prescription drugs. "For the first time, our national study finds that today's teens are more likely to have abused a prescription painkiller to get high than they are to have experimented with a variety of illegal drugs," he said.
