Takeshi Yamasuge, a fugu restaurant owner near Tokyo, on news that Japanese scientists have developed a poison-free pufferfish (fugu, as it's known in Japan). Only licensed chefs may prepare the poisonous brand, so the prices are high: about $100 a pound.


The odds that British bookmakers are giving that last week's rumored marriage between actress/singer Jennifer Lopez and singer Marc Anthony will not last out the year. Ms. Lopez has had two other marriages, one lasting a year and the other nine months. Her high-profile engagement to actor Ben Affleck ended in January.
