I have bad eyes.

Singer JAMES BROWN, 64, explaining to The Chronicle of Augusta, Ga., his medicinal use of a "little tiny bit" of marijuana. He was arrested last week and charged with marijuana possession and unlawful use of a firearm.

Macho Movement president LUIZ MARIO LADIERA, on his group's naming President Clinton "Macho of the Year" in honor of the American president's purported sexual escapades. Mr. Ladiera said last week that "over the past year, no other public figure has honored the traditions of machismo as much as Bill Clinton." Macho Movement was formed 15 years ago, Mr. Ladiera said, "as a good-humored response to the growing influence of feminists in Brazil."

Talk-radio broadcaster and former professional wrestler and small-city mayor JESSE "The Body" VENTURA, upon his entry on the Reform Party ticket into the Minnesota gubernatorial race. Mr. Ventura says his success or failure in the contest will show whether "you have to be a career politician to lead and govern the state." Among those already in the race or expected to join are Ted Mondale and Hubert Humphrey III, both sons of former vice presidents.
